Hennessy's father was John Hennessy. John Hennessy's job as a meat salesman and marketing executive required a great quantity of travelling, which meant that the family was required to relocate often. In 1982, the mother Maxine had to leave her family and she was taken care of in part by Eleanor her maternal grandmother, who lives in Kitchener Ontario. There is a younger brother John Paul J.P. Hennessy Jr. and a identical twin sister Jacqueline she is a magazine writer and television hosts in Canada. Hennessy is of Irish French Swedish and Italian family ancestry from her father's side, and mainly Ukrainian Roma as well as Austrian ancestry on her mother's.
